Chocolate Biscuit pudding

Well, this is my very first post into the blog world and as its the beginning, lets begin it with something SWEET. This is a recipe which i tried yesterday after going through many sites to get a good and convenient ingredients. It tasted just smooth and delicious that my hubby who usually disliked chocolates said it was awesome. Here goes the ingredients...

Ingredients:
  1. 500 ml milk
  2. 6 tbsp sugar
  3. 3 tbsp custard powder
  4. 2tbsp coco powder
  5. 1 tbsp instant coffee powder
  6. 1 packet Marie biscuit or any non flavored biscuits
  7. 1 cup black coffee ( 1 tbsp instant coffee pwd mixed into 1 cup hot water and sugar)
  8. 1 1/2 cup whipped cream
  9. Filling
You can use any one of the below or any combination as desired by your taste buds
  • Few almonds roughly chopped or any nuts you prefer
  • Oreo biscuits broken into tiny parts
  • Caramelized coconut. It can be prepared by roasting coconut and cashew nuts in butter or ghee until the coconut turns golden brown.
  • Diced tropical fruits mixed with whipped cream

Method:
  1. Remove 1 cup milk from the half litre milk and keep it aside. Boil rest of the milk by adding sugar.
  2. To the 1 cup milk, add custard powder, coco powder and coffee powder.Mix well until you get a lump free mixture. The custard might thicken so mix well before adding the rest. Even if it thickens dont worry mix well with a egg beater.
  3. Before you let the milk to boil, add this custard-coco mixture to this milk and stir continuously. If required you can add cream to this mixture and check the sugar at this point. Let the mixture gets cooked so that it thickens and coats your spoon when dipped. Take off from stove top and let it cool. This is the chocolate syrup to be used in our pudding.
  4. Take a serving dish and pour a ladle-full of the chocolate syrup to make a thin film at the bottom.

  5. Dip the Marie biscuits in black coffee for 2 secs and layer them in the serving dish to cover the bottom of the dish. You can roughly add bits and pieces of them to fill in the gaps.

  6. Pour a ladle full of chocolate syrup over the biscuits so that all of it gets covered.
  7. Add any of the fillings mentioned earlier. I used chopped almonds and cashewnuts.

  8. Repeat the above procedure of biscuit layering and chocolate syrup layering and the fillings. You can make 2 or 3 layers depending on the quantity left. On the last layer instead of chocolate syrup add whipped cream and top it with your filling.

  9. Gently tap the dish so that mixture gets settled in the edges.
  10. Wrap it with a cling and refrigerate before serving for at least 3 hours.

Its Fluffy and yummy ...
