Quick Tomato Chutney

Spicy Tomato Chutney


                     The most common Coconut chutney for Dosa and Idli has started to bore me these days. Its this orange chutney that pays me a good breakfast these days. This recipe also has a short story behind. When I got pregnant , my sugar levels had gone up and my Doctor had advised me to stop the intake of coconut. It was then our orange spicy hero gave me a hello and started to brighten my day with a healthy and tasty breakfast.




Ingredients :

    Orange Tomato Chutney
  1. Tomato medium : 1 ; chop roughly
  2. Shallots : 6-7 ; chop roughly
  3. Green chilli : 1 ; splitted
  4. Oil : 2 tbsp
  5. Chilli powder : 1/2 tbsp
  6. Turmeric powder : 1/4 tsp
  7. Drinking Water : 1/2 cup

Method :

  1. Saute together Shallots, tomato and green chilli in oil until they turn soft.
  2. Add the masala powder and saute till raw smell is off
  3. Take out and add drinking water and keep it aside for cooling
  4. Blend the cooled mixture and serve with Dosa or Idli. Oh! dont forget salt..
