Chilli Chicken



                       This recipe is completely adapted from a blog that I frequently visit . It is a fabulous blog with lots of recipes and beautiful pics. I stare at each page and wonder when I will have the blessings to become a successful blogger like hers . This is one from the Chinese flavors and can be opted with any Chinese dish. Ingredients:

  1. Chicken : 500 gms ; Cut into medium cube shapes ( boneless can also be used)
For marination :
  1. Ginger : 4 - 5 pods , chopped
  2. Garlic : 1 inch ; chopped
  3. Kashmiri Chilli Powder : 1/2 tsp
  4. Soya Sauce : 2 tbsp
  5. Green Chilli : 3
  6. Egg White : 1 , beaten
  7. Pepper Powder : 1/4 tsp
  8. Corn Flour : 2 tbsp
  9. Salt : To taste ( See Note )

For Sauce :
  1. Onion : 2 ; chopped into 1 inch sized
  2. Capsicum : chopped into 1 inch sized
  3. Ginger : 1/2 inch; chopped
  4. Garlic : 2 pods ; chopped
  5. Kashmiri Chilli Powder : 1 tsp
  6. Water : 3/4 cup
  7. Soya Sauce : 1 tbsp
  8. Tomato Sauce : 1 tbsp
  9. Salt : To taste ( See Note )
  10. Cooking oil : For deep frying 

Method :

  1. Blend the items listed under Marination and marinate the chicken and refrigerate it for 4 hours. Overnight marination will give more results.
  2. Heat Oil in a pan and deep fry the chicken until it turns golden brown. Keep them aside
  3. For preparing sauce, take a pan and heat 3-4 tbsp of the same oil thats used for frying chicken. 
  4. Add together Onion and Capsicum and saute till it turns soft. Add Ginger-Garlic and saute for sometime. 
  5. Take 3/4 cup or 1 cup water in a bowl and mix the kashmiri chilli powder into it. Now add this mixture into the sauce mixture. When water boils, add tomato sauce and soya sauce and finally salt. 
  6. To this add fried chicken. And let it cook with a lid covered until the sauce gets reduced and chicken pieces are well coated.

Note :

  • Soya Sauce is already salty. So add salt accordingly in both stages .
