Bird's Nest / Kili Koodu

This was something which I have been thinking to prepare for a long time. I had seen this somewhere earlier and was quite surprised with the creativity of those who invented this snack. Maybe am not that creative enough to think of new ideas.. Anyhow, lets see how this recipe goes.

Ingredients:

  1. Chicken Filling : 1 cup
  2. Curry leaves ,chopped : 1-2 tbsp
  3. Coriander leaves chopped : 1 tbsp
  4. Potato : 2-3 medium, cooked and mashed
  5. Oil : for deep frying
  6. Broken Vermicelli : for coating
  7. Beaten Egg white : 1 or 2

Method :

Heat 1 -2 bsp oil in a wok and  add the prepared chicken filling into this. Add coriander leaves and curry leaves and mix well. Keep this aside and when cooled make small balls out of this. Now cover all these chicken balls with the mashed potato . (Instead of covering with potato, you can mix potato along with the chicken mixture in the wok itself as you do for Chicken Cutlets). Dip each of these balls in egg white and then coat them in Vermicelli. Do this for all the balls. Deep fry all these in oil till both sides turn golden brown.
